T-Bag sports his very famous goatee. He is about average height for a man, and he could stand to lose a few pounds. He has brown eyes, and those who say that they eyes are the window to the soul aren't correct when it comes to T-Bag because he knows how to hide his emotions.- PLAY BY: Robert Knepper

- OUTWARD PERSONA:
T-Bag may not have book smarts but he has plenty of street smarts. He's sly and cunning and is a fighter. He knows how to survive in prison. For someone who didn't have much of a formal education, he's very eloquent--all thanks to his father, unfortunately. T-Bag can charm his way into anyone's pants if he so wanted to. He's not the stereotypical redneck from the deep South. He thrives on being in control and in power and doesn't take 'no' for an answer.- DEEPER DETAILS:
He's a child of incest and rape--never a pretty combination. A psychologist would tell you that he's really not a bad guy (evidenced by the fact that he never killed Susan or so much as hurt her children) and that with the right amount of therapy this wretched man's life could have been saved. T-Bag, though, would say that that psychologist has no idea what they're talking about. But, as much as T-Bag hates to show the finer emotions (like caring, sympathy, kindness, etc.) they still linger beneath his skin somewhere.

- HISTORY:
Theodore Bagwell was the product of rape and incest. His father assaulted his Down Syndrome afflicted sister. Of course, living in an environment like that is almost a recipe for disaster. T-Bag can't say that he had an easy life growing up. His parents did send him to school but Teddy never took it all that seriously so instead his father decided to take it upon himself to educate his son, hoping that he'd become the President of the United States someday. Bill would make Teddy memorize entries from encyclopedias and words from a thesaurus. He'd invite his friends over and make his son perform feats of intelligence in front of them, and then as a reward he'd sexually assault his son.
T-Bag spent his young years in and out of juvie for assaulting animals and vandalism. When he was in fourth grade he attempted to set his teacher's house on fire. It was this time when he was in juvie that he became a member of the Alliance for Purity. And this time when he got out of juvie, he started committing his more serious crimes that eventually culminated in the kidnapping, rape, and murder of six high school to college aged students. He may have very well gotten away with it if it weren't for the fact that his girlfriend, Susan, saw him on America's Most Wanted and turned him in, despite his protestations that he never hurt her or her two children.
He was sent to Donaldson Prison in Alabama. There he became the leader of the Alliance for Purity group inside the prison. Under his leadership the group became so powerful that the warden had no choice but to try and disband it by sending its leader to Fox River in Illinois, and there T-Bag decided to start up a new chapter of the Alliance for Purity, giving him the power that he so loves to have. Needless to say, him and his group of buddies aren't the most well liked people in the prison but T-Bag knows how to survive. He's been in and out of juvie and prison his whole life. He's learned quite a few skills in that time period.

T-Bag had mixed feelings about being back in Fox River. He immensely missed the few months of freedom he had been able to experience but out there he had just been a man on the run, not to mention a man working for other people. In prison, though, he was on top of the food chain. The other inmates feared and respected. Heck, they feared him even more than they had before what with all of the tales he had been telling them of all the people he had killed when he was on the outside.
He had quickly established himself back into the position of leader of the Alliance for Purity. There were some new members to the group and some familiar faces that were still there. He had reclaimed the very set of bleachers that had been his before, which is where he was now seated with his men. T-Bag was wearing the traditional prison garb: a pair of navy blue pants and a white t-shirt with his famous navy blue hat on to shade his eyes from the bright sun that was shining today. He felt right at home.
Well, not quite actually. There was one thing he was missing. He had yet to find an inmate worthy of holding his pocket. He spent his days scouring the yard for one. Maybe today he would get lucky. His eyes scanned the yard until they rested upon one young man, sitting all by himself up against the fence. Without saying a word to his men, T-Bag got up and swaggered on over there. He plopped himself down next to the man. “There’s nothin’ I hate more than seein’ a fish sittin’ all by himself instead of tryin’ to make connections that can help him out in a hellhole like this place. Lucky for you, I have no problem with approachin’ the fish rather than waitin’ for them to come to me.”
