- OUTWARD PERSONA:
Boggs loves to help others. His help isn't like Abruzzi's or C-Note's help--he doesn't have guys on the outside that can help him smuggle in things to give to the other inmates. His help is more of the 'You have a problem. Let's talk it through,' help. If he wasn't a murderer he could very well be a psychiatrist today. But, as much as he likes to help people, Boggs also likes to stay in the shadows as often as he can. But if he's ever approached by anyone he'll be nothing but friendly for as long as he can be. Boggs tries to only see the good in people but with some of the other inmates that's hard to do. And don't let his friendly nature fool you though. If you try to start something with him, he's not afraid of defending himself.- DEEPER DETAILS:
A psychiatrist would tell you that Boggs' life was truly wasted. He could have been so much more if he had just stayed out of trouble. Boggs is a deeply religious man. He knows he's going to Hell when he dies, so he would love nothing more than the chance to try to make up for some of his past sins by being a model prisoner today. He's the type of prisoner that wardens love having around. He's not going to cause any trouble unless another inmate provokes him into having defend himself.

- HISTORY:
Boggs was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was the first born and within the first seven years of his life, his parents had their three other children. Boggs was always the kid in school who preferred to be sitting in a corner reading, instead of actively participating in any discussions. His teachers or parents didn't think much of it though. Little did they know all of the violent fantasies Boggs liked to play out in his head, sometimes getting the chance to act them out if he came upon a stray dog or cat on his walk home from school.
After graduating high school, he continued to live at home with no plans of ever going to college. His parents weren't too happy about that and eventually kicked him out on his behind. Not having any money and not wanting to look for a job, Boggs mooched around on the streets. His parents would still invite him to family parties, and Boggs would come, always managing to find a kind stranger who would be willing to lend him some clean clothes so his family never knew his real condition. He somehow managed to live this way successfully for thirty years.
Then, on Thanksgiving, he took an ax to his whole family. His lawyer tried to plead a case of temporary insanity but Boggs was just too cognizant the whole trial for the tastes of the jury and they sentenced him to death. But the story doesn't end there. When a teenage couple got kidnapped and Boggs, sitting in his comfy jail cell, said he knew who did it the local authorities who were investing the case had no choice but to listen. But he would only help them out if they reduced his sentence to life in prison. And help them out Boggs did.
For his own safety, Boggs was transferred to Fox River. The warden in North Carolina believed that if they tried to put Boggs into the general population the other inmates would kill him for playing around with a couple of innocent teenagers' lives to save his own.
