Sure, Fernando missed Michael and Lincoln and the rest of the boys quite a bit, but there was one person that trumped every single one of them. Actually, technically two now. Maricruz, and his little baby. The only thing he could think about on the journey back to Mexico was her soft lips, and the way that she could make him feel like all the bad that he had done in his life was okay, because it led them to be together. He still thought she was a little bit loco but maybe that's one of the reason that they worked so well together, because obviously he was as well. She was his light, and he was the fire. At least, that's how he liked to think of it.
The whole drama with Hector was the farthest thing from his mind as he stepped onto the front porch. She was here, at least the last time he had gotten any news she was here. He had a lily in his hand, and felt a little too dirty to be here but there he was on the front doorstep once again. After taking a few slow breaths, and realizing that this was it he held his head up high and stepped inside. Just yesterday they had fled from Ixtapa to his aunt's house and really only had time to shower and, well, they did make time for a few other things but today he just wanted to be able to hold her again and to have a chance to talk like they hadn't in far too long.
"Hey mami, you 'round?" He hollered with a slight smirk on his face. His aunt wasn't there, it was just the two of them. So, they could at least play house for now. He certainly couldn't wait until the day where they had their own place, and their little baby could play while he held Maricruz's hand and was able to just relax. "I got you somethin', an' a bit of strawberries." He had those held behind his back, and the flower over his chest. It wasn't much, but right now simple to him was as good as gold.

Since they had arrived in Mexico, Maricruz had felt almost as if this was all just a dream. She kept desperately trying to hold onto it. She didn't want to wake up and realize that her Fernando was still in Fox River, and he wouldn't be released before their baby was born. She also didnt want to wake up to watching the news terrified of seeing that he had been caught or killed by those hunting him after the escape. Even more she was afraid of of waking up to a world where she was still with Hector, and maybe hadn't even had the courage to leave him at the alter. But with each passing hour, the reality of being with the love her life, her fiance and the father of her child, set in a little more and brought her more and more happiness.
She had been laying down for a little nap while the house was empty, having been feeling tired more easily since the pregnancy started, and the heat not helping with that issue. The heat was what made her realize when she woke up that she wasn't in any of the situations she had feared but that she had come here with her love. She gave a contented sigh as she lay on the bed hugging the pillow that Fernando had used the night before when they arrived. Her eyes closed as she breathed in the scent that still lingered on the fabric. She had missed this so much.
Hearing his voice Maricruz's face lit up with a smile as she quickly got out of bed and headed for the front door. Her eyes went to his immediately, never getting tired of seeing that face and then traveled down to see the lily he held over his chest. "Fernando its beautiful!" She said, her heart swelling with emotion at his thoughtfulness. She never would have expected such a gesture out here in the middle of nowhere, but he never ceased to amaze her with how romantic he could be. She moved in closer and went up on her tiptoes to give him a kiss without crushing the flower. "Thank you Papi"

Everything that they had had to do to get to this moment was completely worth it. Even the whole, disarming T-Bag in the worst way imaginable. All of that didn't matter anymore to Sucre, because he had this woman back in his life. No more worrying about Hector, or her trying to simply make sure that her child was safe. He would find a job around the city and maybe it wouldn't be as glamorous as possible, but he was going to make sure that their little baby grew up to be strong and healthy. And hopefully she knew that there wasn't a single thing that he wouldn't do to make sure that happened. He loved Maricruz with all of his heart, as well as that child. And he would continue to prove that every single day if he had to.
That smile that she gave him, was enough to make his heart melt every time. And that was why he did these things. Because seeing her happy, and nearly bubbly made him drunk with love all over again. Every time that he saw her, it was like the first time all over again. He felt energized, and completely in love over and over again. To him, that's what true love was, whenever you continually fell in love over and over again. He had never felt like this before and knew that nobody would be able to hold his heart in their hands like the lovely Maricruz had right now. "I guess that's why it reminded me of you mi amante bella."
His fingertips trailed up to her cheeks to hold her face against his for a moment in the kiss before resting his forehead briefly on hers, and letting his hands fall down to hers, then around her petite waist. "Wit' all that I've put you through mami, there'll be lots more flowers comin' your way." He gave a slight smile as his fingertips moved up to trail along her spine in a slow bit of motion, unable to take his hands off of her just yet. He still felt like if he let go then she may get away again, something that prison had scarred him with. "You eat yet baby? Gotta eat for two ya know." One of his hands moved from her back and onto her tummy, rubbing lightly with his thumb. He definitely was ready to move onto this next journey with her.

As great as it was being with her fiance now, Maricruz still felt the guilt knowing she was the reason he had escaped and had to go on the run in the first place. Being reunited with him now, before their child was born, it was perfect. But she still hated knowing that he was in danger and that he would have to look over his shoulder the rest of his life, because of her. She worried that once they had been together longer, he would start regretting his actions, and maybe even resenting her for it. But now as they relaxed in his aunt's house in Mexico, and she felt his tender kiss, it was hard to think of anything more perfect, or wanting anymore than what they had right in this room.
"I love it" She said softly, listening to him tell her of more flowers being on their way to make up for what he had put her through. "But I know I've put you through a lot too...its all in the past now. I don't need flowers..but they are nice" She added with a smile, taking the flower from him and turning slightly so that she could lean against him as she brought it up to take in it's fragrance.
Maricruz rested her head against his chest as his hand made its way to her stomach. She shook her head at his question. "We decided to wait til Daddy got back to join us"
